Eating Disorders
Most of us fall somewhere along a spectrum with our relationship with food, exercise, and our body image. It is not your fault if you have found yourself in a disordered pattern with food or movement. Life is hard and our minds do the very best they can to cope with life’s trials and tribulations. However, living a life where you can persevere through challenges, accept your emotions, and have a flexible, healthy relationship with food is absolutely possible.
When approaching treatment with disordered eating know that I firmly believe in health at every size, that all foods fit into a balanced life and that movement/exercise should bring joy, not feel like a chore.
Sport Psychology
Stuck in a rut with your sport? Life stress negatively impacting your performance? Retired from sport and struggling with identity? These are all challenges I can help you with! Being an athlete and/or a high performer gives us the opportunity to train our minds, push our limits, and have fun. However, before you are an athlete, you are a person first. In our work together we will work towards your sport performance goals as well as your personal well-being.
Educational Speaking Engagements
When working with athletes in therapy, I only get to spend one hour every week with them, but coaches, trainers, and parents are with their athletes for hours a day multiple days a week. Therefore, I believe that providing information on eating disorders in sport to these mentors is the most effective way to increase awareness and early intervention. I am able to present in person or virtually depending on your needs.
I specialize in presentations primarily focused on parent awareness and intervention. I also have a learning series focused on helping coaches and trainers become more aware and prepared for intervention if/when they encounter disordered eating on their team.
